DTC C0033:00/C0034:00/C0036:00/C0037:00 [PCM (SKYACTIV-G (WITH Mazda M Hybrid))]

DTC C0033:00 ABS wheel-speed sensor (RF)

Outline

System malfunction locationABS wheel-speed sensor (RF)
Detection condition•  The PCM detects that the electronically controlled brake unit stores the following DTCs. ―  C0033:07
Fail-safe•  Inhibits the i-stop control. •  Inhibits the regenerative braking control.
Possible cause•  DTCs are stored in the electronically controlled brake unit. Note •  If the electronically controlled brake unit stores a DTC, the PCM stores the same DTC or similar. •  If the PCM stores a DTC even though the electronically controlled brake unit does not store a DTC, clear the DTC as it was for a past malfunction, and then complete the repair.

Connector diagram•  Not applicable
StepInspectionResultsAction
1RECORD VEHICLE STATUS WHEN DTC WAS DETECTED TO UTILIZE WITH REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION •  Record the freeze frame data/snapshot data. Note •  Recording can be facilitated using the screen capture function of the PC.Go to the next step.
2VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION OR SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY •  Verify related Service Bulletins, on-line repair information, or Service Information availability. •  Is any related Information available?YesPerform repair or diagnosis according to the available information. •  If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
NoGo to the next step.
3VERIFY ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT DTCs •  Perform the DTC inspection for the electronically controlled brake unit. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Are any DTCs displayed?YesRepair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT].)
NoGo to the next step.
Repair completion verification 1VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED •  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure. •  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.) •  Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure. ―  Perform the KOEO self test. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Is the same Pending DTC present?YesRefer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [(E)].) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1. •  If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM, then go to the next step. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].) (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (E))].)
NoGo to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED •  Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION.) •  Are any other DTCs displayed?YesRepair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
NoDTC troubleshooting completed.
